Was good to see everyone playing so well, and enjoying themselves.

"Follow me, i'm lost too!"

Taffy!
great to see you again mate, you and Spiers did a great job, realy enjoyed using our old walkie talkies and making plans work in the field.
allways great to play with our favourite adversaries (16th ss) top blokes with great kit and a real true enjopyment of playing! see you at war and piece lads!!
all the crew did a great job, hope Alex's ear gets sorted it was one hell of a hole through it, we enjoyed playing as the filthy 13 though it seems to have confused chommers (scary make up?
)
we all had a very enjoyable game and want to thank all of the players who came to chat in the eves too, mainly axis players!
look forward to another of Taffy/Spiers productions
round of applause from Dog company

great weather, great site and views. ace pictures carly. thanks to taffy john and gang .
thanks to dog company top lads. and thanks for the sheep for the early morning wake up call.

Glad you all had a good game (and good weather). Makes me even more gutted that I had to miss out on this one. The 222 looks fantastic, as do the rest of the German side.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Thanks to taff and alex for laying this game on. Always up for some mountain yomping wearing and indeed carrying far too much kit (see weary pic of me with .30 link, tripod, 30 cal and m1 carbine in hand) weather was lovely, although i dont think i took on enough water on the saturday! Thanks to all players, was a shame that some of the germans coulxnt have made it that were booked on!
*epic fail*
Glad i managed to zero my carbine on saturday night, bb in line with the front iron sight post at 50m will do me just fine! ![]()
Was fun krauting it up on sunday too, got to play alongside many players that i dont normally get chance too! Thanks to forrester and chomley for use of kit

Well what can i say first time i've been to a WW2 re-enactment day and it was absolutely fantastic, fantastic weekend and a really good way to have celebrated my birthday!! the weather was incredible!! Thought the vehichles were awesome if not at times a pain for us airborne but oh well!! But would like to thank everyone for making it a quality weekend met some great guys who all played extremely well on both sides especially the bloke that shot me in the neck with a luger
cheers mate cracking shot haha!! It is definitely something i would do again without a doubt and would like to thank John who as usual provides the best of the best and Johns wife for the great chili ![]()

Thanks to everyone (esp site crew) for a great weekend. I think my favourite moment was when Webby playing as a Yank captured the Sdz 222 armed only with a pistol

It's almost the law that with every game I have to catch one of the blaggers bang to rights hehe

Anyway, now we know the next game. A commando raid somewhere in the Bavarian mountains.
<Cough> Where Eagles Dare </Cough>

POSTING IN WRONG PLACE

Free speech is expensive these days!

Just out of interest for the Dog Co. guys, the lighter colour of camo on the face, wouldn't have anything to do with the photo of the 3 chaps on the front of the new SOF magazine would it?

looks like i missed a belter.... ah well, maybe next time. glad you all enjoyed it, it looked a riot.
...what a brilliant game guys the Axis were pushed back over them hills every time, cracking team work.
Glad you enjoyed that - scenario dictated that I progressively pulled back, otherwise you wouldn't have played all of Taffy's cracking site. Depends on how you see 'winning' a game I suppose - for me its following orders and giving the players the opportunity to allow players to give a good account of themselves. German players did, despite overwhelming odds (now I find out Yanks were using radios
) and can hold their heads up high having made the best of the resources available to them.

Have to echo Chommers remarks, the scenario was a no win situation for the Germans from the off, they followed orders to the letter and fought a hell of a battle pulling back all the time as told. Holding some positions for a lot longer than planned
Fire power was an issue on Saturday the Kar98s were at a bit of a disadvantage against all the Thompsons
having the range but not the speed to reload, American troops did faulter quite a few times but once on song they were great.
The winners were all of you guys that played ![]()
I was glad to be part of the weekend and watched all the smiling faces all weekend.
Bring on the next one but 2 seperate bases to guard for the two days
patrols and objectives being the key, then both teams can Win or Lose ![]()

Is it coz I is Welsh

Love the group photo, makes me want an airborne loadout particularly like the guys kit in the front right of the photo probably the crossed M1 bandoleers that does it ![]()
